Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
All applicant are required to upload a photo.
- Photo must be less than 6 months old and reflect your current appearance.
- Individual photo, with plain white, light colored background.
- Photo must be in color.
- Your full face must be facing the camera and include only your shoulders and head.
- no sunglasses, hats or head coverings unless they are worn for religious purposes.
All applications require fingerprints and waivers.
- Fingerprints can be done at any fingerprinting agency.
- Fingerprint cards must be printed on card stock.
- The cards and waivers need to be mailed or delivered to the Attorney Admissions office.
- We cannot accept electronic fingerprint cards.

Bar Examinees will receive instructions and information approximately 30 days prior to the exam.
All Bar Examinees are invited to a zoom meeting approximately one week prior to the exam. This is an opportunity to ask questions and receive an overview or the Bar Exam.
All Kansas applicants must have a JD from an ABA-approved Law School.
We must receive Official Transcripts that confirm graduation.
An official transcript is a verified and authentic copy of a student's academic record, issued directly by the educational institution.
Official Transcripts can be sent electronically from the school or the school's clearinghouse to admissions@kscourts.gov.
Transcripts that do not confirm graduation will not be accepted.
Transcripts sent by the applicant or uploaded by them will not be accepted.
Kansas requires a minimum score of 80 on the MPRE for all Exam and UBE Transfer applicants.
Kansas requires a minimum score of 266 on the Current UBE exam.

The Kansas Attorney Admissions Office processes requests for Law Firm Name approval and certificates of Good Standing required by the Secretary of State.
Complete the Law Firm Name and certification request by registering for an account on the portal and submitting the request.
